The problems this solves
Returns are the real cost of selling clothes
Sizing means apparel comes back at rates other categories never see. Ungraded returns pile up as dead money — stock you own but cannot sell.
Size-colour matrices multiply everything
One design in five sizes and four colours is twenty SKUs. Mispicks between near-identical variants are the classic apparel failure, and each one is a return.
Barcodes change more often than the product
Supplier barcodes, rebrands, FNSKU switches between listings — apparel needs relabelling as routine work, not an awkward favour.
How Oakmont handles it
What actually happens
- 1
Received by exact variant
Every size and colour is counted in as its own SKU, so the live portal inventory reflects the matrix you actually sell, not a lumped total.
- 2
Prepped with poly bag included
FBA prep from £0.26 per unit at 2,500+ includes the poly bag and FNSKU label apparel needs; barcode swaps and relabels are handled as standard work.
- 3
Picked against the 99.8% target
Barcode-scanned picking separates the medium from the large and the navy from the black — the mispicks that generate avoidable returns.
- 4
Returns graded and recirculated
Each return is graded at £1.20 per unit with photos in the portal; resellable garments are re-bagged and back in stock instead of in a sack.

Questions
Asked before, answered here
How do you handle clothing returns?
Every return is inspected and graded at £1.20 per unit — resellable, needs re-bagging, or not fit for resale — with photos and the grading visible in your portal. Resellable garments go straight back into live inventory rather than into a returns mountain. For apparel, the speed of that loop is the difference between a return being stock or being a loss.
Does FBA prep for clothing include poly bagging?
Yes. The per-unit prep rate — £0.50 at 1–199 down to £0.26 at 2,500+ — includes inspection, a poly bag with suffocation warning where required, and the FNSKU label. Apparel is the category where 'poly bag extra' pricing stings most, which is why ours is not priced that way.
Can you relabel garments with new barcodes?
Yes, relabelling is routine work for us: FNSKU-over-EAN swaps, moving stock between listings, and applying updated brand or care labels supplied by you. It is the normal way to redirect apparel stock between channels or rescue a mislabelled production run without shipping everything back to the factory.
How do you avoid sending the wrong size or colour?
Each variant is a distinct barcoded SKU and every pick is scanned against the order, working to our published 99.8% pick accuracy target. Near-identical variants are the main source of apparel mispicks, and scanning is the control that catches them — a visually similar item with the wrong barcode fails the scan.
Can you fulfil my clothing brand across Amazon, my website and marketplaces?
Yes, from one stock pool with one live inventory view. FBA shipments are prepped and forwarded against the 24hr turnaround target, while website and marketplace orders dispatch same day before 2pm at £0.95 per order plus £0.25 per extra unit. Returns from every channel come back through the same grading process.
