The problems this solves

Amazon is strict about expiry dates

Expiry-dated FBA stock must carry clearly readable expiry labels and meet Amazon's minimum remaining shelf-life rules on arrival. Get it wrong and the inventory is refused or destroyed at your cost.

Batches blur together on the shelf

Two deliveries of the same SKU with different expiry dates look identical in most warehouses. Without batch-level visibility, you cannot rotate stock or answer a recall question.

Short-dated stock is money evaporating

Every week a batch sits unsold, its sellable window shrinks — and with it, the channels that will accept it. You need to see dates coming, not discover them.

How Oakmont handles it

What actually happens

  1. 1

    Goods-in with dates recorded

Each inbound batch is received with its expiry date captured against the SKU, and discrepancies or damaged seals are photographed and flagged in the portal.

  2. 2

    Expiry labelling to Amazon's format

Where listings require it, we apply expiry labels at £0.12 per unit in the format Amazon expects, alongside standard FNSKU labelling and poly bagging.

  3. 3

    Stock rotated oldest-first

Batches are picked oldest sellable date first, so short-dated units move before they become unsendable — to Amazon or to your customers.

  4. 4

    Dispatch by channel

FBA shipments forward to Amazon against a 24hr prep turnaround target; DTC orders dispatch same day before 2pm at £0.95 per order.

Questions

Asked before, answered here

What are Amazon's expiry date rules for supplements?

Amazon treats supplements as expiry-dated products: units must arrive with a clearly readable expiry label in an approved format and with enough remaining shelf life to sell through, or the shipment can be refused. We apply compliant expiry labels at £0.12 per unit during prep and record each batch's dates at goods-in, so short-dated stock is caught before it travels.

Can you track my stock by batch and expiry date?

Yes. Each inbound batch is received with its expiry date recorded against the SKU, visible in your live portal inventory. Picking runs oldest sellable date first, and because batches are distinguishable, a supplier-level question — or a recall — can be answered by batch rather than by guesswork.

How much does FBA prep cost for supplements?

The standard per-unit ladder applies: £0.50 (1–199), £0.42 (200–499), £0.36 (500–999), £0.30 (1,000–2,499), £0.26 (2,500+), including inspection, poly bag and FNSKU label. Expiry labelling adds £0.12 per unit where required. All rates, including exception fees, are published.

What happens to short-dated stock?

Because expiry dates are recorded at goods-in and visible in the portal, you see batches approaching their limits rather than finding out at prep time. You can divert short-dated units to DTC channels, bundles or promotions while they are still sellable — we can build bundles at £0.25 per extra unit. Units past a usable date are flagged for your decision, not quietly binned.

Do you handle temperature-sensitive supplements?

Our warehouse is ambient storage. Most tablets, capsules and powders store correctly at ambient conditions per their labelling; products requiring refrigeration are not something we currently hold. If you are unsure how your product is classified, check the storage instructions on your label and ask us before booking an inbound.
